FAQ
Is Acupuncture Working?
If you have never had acupuncture, one of the first questions may be, is it working? Acupuncture is a therapy and like any therapy we keep digging deeper to the root. We don’t see the body as healthy or ill but in constant fluctuation. The first signs that acupuncture is working will be subtle changes to things you may not have been come in for. You are likely to see improvement in overall sense of well-being, less stress, better sleep, concentration, more energy, improved digestion and more!
Often when working on something chronic, it will take consistent treatment to see lasting results. If you are someone that deals with chronic illness acupuncture and integrative medicine are great choices to both treat symptoms of the chronic condition as well as prevent flares. Ask your acupuncturist how often you should come in and what to expect.
what to expect?
First treatment expect to be in your underwear and draped or wear loose clothes. There is a table warmer and coverings. Make sure to have something in your stomach but better to come not too full. Afterwards you may feel sleepy and calm. Drink plenty of water with lemon if possible. If its your first acupuncture treatment try to schedule so you don’t have anything after you have to do.
How many treatments?
Treatment numbers vary depending on what you are working on. The more often you can come the faster you will see results. Typically patients come weekly- biweekly for treatment.
