Cupping

Cupping is an Eastern medicine technique that uses suction to promote better blood flow to the area, release muscle tension and can be used in cases where there is internal heat in the body.

Cupping brings more blood flow to that area releasing stagnancy to promote healing. This is always done in conjunction with acupuncture. The cups can be applied stationery, or oil is applied to the skin to move cups creating a massage-like sensation.

Two different types of cups are used. Glass cupping uses fire to create suction and the cups are applied to the areas of the body where it is needed. Silicon cups are applied through pressure to create suction.

Bruising is normal and goes away within a few days, usually skin appears more even after the bruises go away.
